Aug. 27, 7 p.m./$ What does the fox say? And why? Learn about fox noises and adaptations, the engineering skills of beavers and the survival strategies of America’s lone marsupial, the opossum. The lives, habits and importance of all these mammals, known as furbearers, will be explained by a biologist from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Discover how these mammals shape the landscape, interact with people, and continue to hold a unique place in wildlife management, culture, and conservation. And bring your questions! $5 per person.
