Gildan Hiring Event Details HTI is hosting a hiring event seeking Material Handlers and Equipment Operators for Gildan in Charleston, SC. These positions are temp-to-hire and interested candidates will need to pass a background check and drug screening to be eligible. Shifts Available – 1st Shift: 6:30am – 2:30pm – 2nd Shift: 2:30pm – 10:30pm – 3rd Shift: 10:30pm – 6:00am Perks of the Job – 90 day Temp-to-Hire – Paid Weekly – Paid Time Off – Health & Dental Insurance – Additional benefits after being hired on (401k, Paid holidays, Tuition Reimbursement, etc.) – $250 Referral bonus with HTI if the referred candidate stays 60 days MATERIAL HANDLERS Requirements – High School Diploma or GED Equivalent – At least 6 months of prior warehouse experience – Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively Must be able to stand, bend, squat for long hours – Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English language effectively – Basic Warehouse Management System experience is preferred – Must be able to work in a team-based warehouse environment – Must be able to understand and respond to various notifications, both visual and audible, unless otherwise stated by the client Responsibilities – Responsibilities vary by department: – VAS and rework responsibilities include folding, tagging, attaching size strips, bagging, and applying hangers in a fast-paced environment. There are also some repackaging and scanning duties in these departments. – Pick pass responsibilities include scanning, labeling, restocking, and box building. – Shipping responsibilities include labeling, scanning, pallet building, and unloading cases from the conveyor. Employees will be lifting and bending with cases over 50 lbs. more frequently in this department. – Receiving responsibilities include scanning and repackaging of cases with help of non-powered equipment (such as pallet jacks or hand trucks). – Storage responsibilities include scanning, placing cases onto the conveyor system, and repackaging of boxes. Employees will be lifting and bending with cases over 50 lbs. more frequently in this department. EQUIPMENT OPERATORS Requirements – High School Diploma or GED Equivalent – At least 6 months of prior warehouse experience operating all stand-up equipment (forklifts, walkies, reaches, pacers, crowns, clamps, high-reach trucks, pallet jacks) – Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively – Must be able to stand, bend, squat for long hours – Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English language effectively – Must be able to work in a team-based warehouse environment – Must be able to understand and respond to various notifications, both visual and audible, unless otherwise stated by the client Responsibilities – Operates distribution center powered and nonpowered equipment (all stand-up equipment: forklifts, walkies, reaches, pacers, crowns, clamps, high-reach trucks, pallet jacks) to move materials and perform pallet picks, case picks, pallet building, and loading cases onto the conveyor. – Employees will be handling cases over 50 lbs. consistently in this role.
