Open Mic for Musicians

Hugo House Music Open Mic Join us for Hugo House's first ever music-forward open mic night centered on original work only, no covers. This event brings together musicians, writers, and hybrid performers. With a limited lineup and a community-centered atmosphere, each performance is given space to be fully experienced. Whether you're performing or attending, expect a engaging evening centered on creativity, craft, and connection. Event Overview 20 total performers, 10 pre-registered Pre-register here 10 day-of sign-ups (first come, first served) Performance styles: Music, poetry, prose, or hybrid Audience seating: Maximum capacity is 80 Sign-Ups & Check-In Pre-Registration opens April 1. Please follow this link to pre-register Limited to 10 spots Check-in required by 6:00 PM on event day Unclaimed spots may be released Day-Of Sign-Ups Open at 6:00 PM (front desk) Close at 6:50 PM or when full First come, first served Performance Guidelines 5-minute sets (includes setup + transitions) (Up to ~6 minutes max if needed) Solo artists or duos preferred Original work only, no covers Performance Overview Keep it simple: No full bands, drum kits, loud electric setups, or backing tracks. Basic gear provided: Mics, DI boxes, stands, and limited accessories—bring small extras if needed. Quick sound checks only: Levels are set fast and won’t be adjusted during the show. Be ready: Prep offstage, keep setup minimal, and be ready when called or risk losing your spot. Strict timing: Sets are enforced with a warning; hosts may end performances if needed.
