Programmed by Aaron E. Hunt, Nehal Vyas and Advik Beni Note: Tickets will only be sold at door. All proceeds will go towards flood rescue efforts in Nepal. In The Bird’s Call, filmmakers are drawn to different histories in an attempt to find their footing in a liberatory path forward. At a time of re-budding militancy in some parts of the world, and the growth of existing revolutionary mass movements in others, these films reach boldly and earnestly toward the unknown, often necessarily flirting with abstraction, on the way to identifying tangible next steps in their respective struggles. The screening will be preceded by a performance from Max Jaffe – drummer, producer, composer and technologist – who will be responding to the films with musical offering.
