The Westerlies return to Concerts by the Pond for Paradise by the Pond, closing Season 13 with the boldly personal chamber music that has become their unmistakable voice. Formed in Seattle and now largely based in New York, the brass quartet brings the precision and interplay of a string quartet to music that moves freely among jazz, folk and contemporary classical traditions—from Coachella to Carnegie Hall. Their Paradise program draws on American shape-note music alongside original works and arrangements, including “Fight On,” The Westerlies’ 2026 Grammy-nominated arrangement of a shape-note tune by J.P. Reese. Following a terrific Holiday 2024 Concerts by the Pond appearance, The Westerlies return with the music at the heart of their distinctive artistic voice.
