The Coltrane Home and Jazz Connections will present an evening of music and discussion at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 12 Prospect Street, Huntington, featuring saxophonist Sam Dillon and his quartet. Jeff Lederer will discuss Coltrane’s musical innovations, spirituality, Long Island history, and continuing cultural impact followed by a reception with the musicians. Architectural renderings of the proposed restoration of The John & Alice Coltrane Home, will be on display at the performances. Free. This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Huntington Arts Council.
