The Art Guild presents Master Portrait Oil Painting Study with Helene Balzarini

This one day Workshop would employ the “direct painting” method, whereby students would copy a Master and finish the painting in one three-hour session. Master painting reference photos will be supplied. Students can choose which of the Masters they’d like to work from and can bring any size canvas they’d like. This workshop is an exploration into the choices the Master artist made regarding composition, subject, color, value, painting style, etc. It’s a fun exercise and can be a valuable learning experience. Students should have prior experience working with oils.
