The Firefly Artists present 21st Annual Northport Leg Lamp Lighting

A CELEBRATION OF LOCAL ART AND ARTISTS Twenty-one years ago, the Mayor of Northport was visiting the proprietors of The Northport Hardware Company. Together, they stumbled upon an old gag gift. Laughing, they stuck it in the front window, and gave it an honorary salute. From that quirky moment, the Northport Leg Lamp Lighting has grown to become a beloved, all-community celebration of local talent, small-town charm and our village’s unique ability to unite over something delightfully whimsical to create something truly spectacular. Stewarded by The Firefly Artists since moving into the building where it all started, the event is freely offered by local performing artists and made possible by the Village and folks who love it. Featured performers include members of The Northport High School Tigerettes, Posey School of Dance, the Community Playhouse of Northport and the Viki Sorrentino Foundation. We encourages attendees to come early, get a good start on their holiday shopping, enjoy our delicious restaurants, and then join us for a reception at the Firefly after the main event. Come one, come all! The Firefly is grateful to all who will join us in supporting this decades-old community tradition. Sponsors are welcome, and we warmly encourage folks to shop Main Street and support the local merchants who help keep all sorts of wonderful traditions alive. We also hope you will support the Island Harvest essentials drive that occurs in our gallery throughout the holiday season. It’s a most wonderful time of the year!
