Did you know the Forest Preserve District of Will County operates six dog parks within the county? Each park is equipped with fenced areas allowing dogs to roam off leash, separate enclosures for small and large dogs, shade structures, waste bags and drinking water. An annual permit is required for entry in the parks. Curious about if the dog park is a place your pup would enjoy but not ready to make the commitment? Come visit us during Meet and Treat at the Messenger Marsh Dog Park so you and your dog/s can explore the park. Forest Preserve staff will be on site to provide insight and answer questions. Each dog will receive a treat bag. A $5 day pass is required to attend. Passes can be purchased online or on site the day of the program. Day passes are valid for up to three dogs. Should you decide to continue using the parks and purchase an annual permit, your $5 will go toward the purchase of the permit. More information about the parks and permits can be found on our dog exercising webpage. Messenger Marsh is an accessible preserve. Outreach will be located on paved accessible surfaces. The dog park is natural, uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
