Sunday, March 8, 2026, 2 – 4pm Storytime Room Clementine Hunter (1886-1988) was a self-taught artist who lived and worked most of her life on the Melrose cotton plantation near Natchitoches, Lousiana. She began painting in the 1940s, depicting scenes of plantation life. One subject she returned to frequently was zinnias, a flower that grew around the plantation. This Women’s History Month, remember and celebrate one of the most important folk artists of all time by creating your own painting of zinnias in a pot using puffy pompoms as paintbrushes! Sunday Fun Days are suitable for all-ages, but younger children should make the crafts together with caregivers.
