York residents have been on the front lines of our nation’s defense since the earliest days of the American Revolution. Historic York Village is home to a number of memorials, spanning from the American Revolution to the Vietnam War. Learn about the creation and development of these remarkable memorials, as well as the individuals they commemorate. It will appeal particularly to veterans and families, as well as anyone with an interest in York’s long history of service. This special walking tour is offered free of charge. Tickets will be available at the Museum Center, but registration is encouraged at the link below. The tour begins promptly at the Old York Museum Center at 3 Lindsay Rd. Parking is available along Lindsay Road and in Old York’s parking lot. Please arrive no later than 5 minutes prior to the start time. The tour lasts approximately an hour, and covers a two-block area along York Street. The terrain is uneven, and comfortable shoes are recommended. Old York is a Blue Star Museum and active members of the military and their families are always welcome to Old York for free. Thank you for your service.
