About this event
One of 66 upcoming events at Jefferson County Library, Port Hadlock.
Join Jefferson County Conservation District and Mason Conservation District’s Stewardship Forester for an engaging workshop exploring the benefits of planting native trees and shrubs. Learn how native plants support wildlife, improve ecosystem health, and create resilient landscapes while learning specific needs of some popular plant species offered through our plant sale. Whether you’re new to native planting or looking to expand your knowledge, this workshop will provide practical information to help you choose the best plants for your property, or care for the ones you already have. Bring your questions for a Q&A at the end of the workshop! Presenters: Brigitta Mathews of JCCD and Margaret Kreder of MCD. This is a free workshop, but Registration is required. About JCCD & MCD: Jefferson County Conservation District and Mason Conservation District are non-regulatory special-purpose districts in Washington State that help land users conserve natural resources and address resource concerns while also meeting their land use goals. We collaborate with partner organizations to bring together technical expertise and funding for successful conservation and restoration projects throughout the community. Through an inter-local agreement, JCCD has been able to partner with Mason Conservation District's Stewardship Foresters to provide forestry education and assistance to residents of Jefferson County.
