About this event
One of 19 upcoming events at John Michael Kohler Arts Center.
Thursday, December 3, 2026 6:30–7:30 p.m. JMKAC Atrium FREE Register JMKAC is proud to bring back ON DISPLAY, a meditative movement work by choreographer Heidi Latsky, as part of ON DISPLAY GLOBAL. Originally developed as part of a global social justice initiative honoring the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, ON DISPLAY has been presented in galleries, hospitals, and community settings worldwide. The work aligns with the Arts Center’s In Tune theme and will be specifically designed to take place in the JMKAC entrance and atrium lobby. The installations will be broadcast virtually alongside several other ON DISPLAY GLOBAL installations happening simultaneously around the world. Rather than a traditional performance, ON DISPLAY unfolds through subtle, still, and intentional movement activated by the participants in this human sculpture garden. The work centers on presence and perception, drawing attention to acts of looking and being seen, and opening space for reflection on visibility, access, and embodiment. JMKAC’s installations of ON DISPLAY were developed through a period of teaching and engagement with local participants led by Heidi Latsky and onsite rehearsal director Catey Ott Thompson, and culminating in performances of ON DISPLAY during JMKAC’s Spring Exhibition Opening and Heidi Latsky Dance’s WHO AM I NOW? residency in April. Kao Zhong Xiong, who participated in both performances, will serve as the assistant rehearsal director for Sheboygan’s first ON DISPLAY GLOBAL installation, led by rehearsal director Catey Ott Thompson and choreographer Heidi Latsky. Participants in the Sheboygan and Milwaukee installations will meet virtually with Latsky and Ott Thompson to learn more about On Display Global and prepare for the performances.
