Wednesdays 6pm to 8pm August19 to September 23 Class Description-Learn the fundamentals of longform improv in this 6 week 2-hr class! This course will showcase all of what the wonderful world of longform improv has to offer. Learn how to say yes, take risks, and support your peers. On top of the basics, you will learn how to navigate and execute successful 2-person scenes. We will introduce a core longform structure, known as the montage, and performers will ultimately learn and master a variety of specific tools to use both on and offstage! Whether you are looking to hone your skills for an upcoming performance, or you’re wanting to learn the basics of improv to enhance everyday life (which it will!!!), this course is for you. About Daniel-Daniel first discovered improv at ImprovBoston in 2014 and has been dedicated to the craft ever since. After graduating from the IB Improv Program and performing around Boston with a variety of indie teams, Daniel took the leap and followed his dream to Chicago in 2016. There, he graduated from the iO and Annoyance Improv Programs, as well as Second City’s Writing and Conservatory Programs. He was lucky enough to study under greats such as Susan Messing, Mick Napier, Adal Rifai and the late Noah Gregoropoulos (amongst countless others). During his time in Chicago, Daniel performed on the Harold Teams Hometown and Slice at the iO Theatre and put up his Solo Show More Like Lovable Winner at the Annoyance Theatre. 2020 brought Daniel back to New England where he re-immersed himself into the Boston improv scene. Performing at Union Comedy in Somerville with the House Teams Carmelo and Milkshake. Since moving to Maine, Daniel has dedicated himself to cultivate all the love and knowledge of longform improv through founding the Maine Improv Studio in Portland, ME where he serves as Artistic Director. Gradutation Showcase Performance on September 24 at 7:00PM at Johnson Hall. $200 per person for the Six-Week course. (Two Hours per week.)
