On Thursday, September 3, join us for an opening celebration for The Mirror That Nature Holds: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation Opening Celebration & Arts First Thursdays 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU Celebrate our recently-opened exhibition The Mirror that Nature Holds from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation as well as additional exhibitions Jim Hodges: Unearthed and JSMA Collects. Enjoy appetizers from Gabagool Charcuterie and live music with Crimson Ties World Music Ensemble, view the exhibitions, and mingle with museum staff, special guests, as well as collector and philanthropist Jordan D. Schnitzer. Live music provided. This reception also launches Arts First Thursdays, a new series at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art created to bring community members together for after-hours experiences at the museum. Each evening will celebrate the visual, culinary, and performing arts through vibrant programs and shared experiences. The Foundation has shared its art with millions across the U.S. and internationally through groundbreaking exhibitions, publications, and programs. Founded by ARTnews Top 200 Collector Jordan D. Schnitzer—whose passion for art began in his mother’s contemporary art gallery in Portland, Ore.—the Foundation has organized over 180 exhibitions from its collection and additionally loaned thousands of artworks to over 130 museums at no cost to the institutions. Schnitzer began collecting contemporary prints and multiples in 1988 and today is North America’s foremost print collector. His Foundation’s collection consists of thousands of artworks, including a wide variety of prints, sculptures, paintings, glass, and mixed media works. Location & Parking The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU is located in the Crimson Cube (on Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium and the CUB) on the WSU Pullman campus.
