@ Bring the entire family every third Thursday in the Joslyn Castle neighborhood along 40th Street, between Dodge and Cuming Streets. District partners Cathedral Arts Project Omaha, Cali Commons, Joslyn Castle & Gardens, and the Joslyn Castle Neighborhood Association, are looking forward to opening up our venues for an evening of art, food, and fun! Join us Third Thursdays, May-September from 5-8pm at Joslyn Castle & Gardens. Gardens 5-8pm Book Fair The Castle green space will host a book fair! Bring a gently loved book from home to participate in our book swap at the Joslyn Castle info table. Local vendors include: The Next Chapter Books & Gifts, The Bookworm, Five Nine, Design Bindery, and Omaha Public Library’s Poppy! Bring a picnic or order dinner from Shaara Halal Eats & Dripps BBQ. Joslyn Castle 6pm Artist Talk: From the Good it May Do Join featured artist Josephine Langbehn and local historian Monica Gomez in the Joslyn Castle Music Room for a lively chat about the art and archives that inspired Langbehn’s solo exhibition From the Good it May Do. Josephine has been working in the Joslyn family archives for over a year gaining insight and inspiration for this highly anticipated show on view in the Joslyn Castle now through September 6. 7pm Poetry Pause in the Music Room Unwind in the Castle Music room while enjoying the works of two local poets. Carriage House 5-8pm Omatopia Group Art Show closing reception Omatopia is a group art show that celebrates the past, present and future of Omaha. We asked local artists to reflect on the built environments that shape lived experiences in this ever-expanding city. The show features nostalgic paintings and photos, large scale public art projects, preservation campaigns, and visions of what the future may look like. Featured artists: Amelia Broussard, Caitlin Cass, Kevin McCarthy, Julia McGuigan, Caiti Campbell, Sarah Rowe, Kristine Hanson-Cain, Gary Bowen, Neil Greiss, Shawn Biessel, Quentin Lueninghoener, Cornelius Levering, Harding Design, South Omaha Mural Project, Livable Omaha + FACT, Omaha Payphone and the Omaha Urban Sketchers.
