The sisters, who are primarily self-taught musicians, have toured the Midwest since 2012 and have gained recognition for their songwriting and sibling harmonies. Their musical style is described as having “soft, haunting voices fluttering together in perfect harmony over their special blend of ethereal, finger-picking goodness”. Their sound often evokes a peaceful, American folk and Appalachian roots spirit. The Vogts Sisters have released several original albums, including: Broken Ties (2018) Homeward (2016) My Own Dixie (2015) Old Time Noise (2012) In 2023, they released Songs That Keep Us Sane, their first album consisting entirely of cover songs. The duo has earned numerous awards in regional and international competitions, including: Best Duo in the 15th Annual International Acoustic Music Awards. Grand prize at the 2013 Bluegrass and Chili Festival. First place in the folk ensemble competition at the 2012 Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championship.
