Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde reveal about masculinity, monstrosity, and the British Empire? This talk explores how the figure of the monster became a powerful way to confront and contain imperial anxieties about violence, power, identity, and the self.
