Blount County Recycling Roundup

Recycling Roundups are community events organized and hosted by Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) and local environmental supporters, where residents can drop off certain hard-to-recycle items such as electronics, batteries, tires, mattresses, scrap metal, sensitive documents, and Styrofoam to be recycled or repurposed, free of charge. TEC provides this service as a way to help improve Tennessee’s environment and communities, reduce litter and illegal dumping, reduce our reliance on landfills, support Tennessee’s recycling economy, and educate the community on local recycling resources. TEC partners ensure there is a recycling end destination for the accepted materials and partners with mostly local vendors to recycle these items and keep them out of landfills. Many materials are refurbished, processed into new materials, or downgraded into other materials.
