About this event

Join us for monthly ☄️SPACE NIGHTS🪐 at Kent Library! October's talk title: Night of the Living Stars: White Dwarfs, Supernovae, and Black Holes Take a journey through the dramatic life cycle of stars, from their birth in vast clouds of gas and dust to the extraordinary objects they leave behind. This public talk will explore how a star’s mass shapes its destiny and why stars like our Sun end as dense white dwarfs, while more massive stars can explode as supernovae and collapse into neutron stars or black holes. Along the way, we’ll uncover how stars forge the elements, light up the universe, and connect directly to the story of our own solar system. This is a community event! All ages 7+ are welcome to attend! 🪐📅Watch our Calendar for more upcoming Presentations📅🪐 For Youth Ages 5-12 November 16th 5 pm - Solar System Ambassadors: Mars Rovers December 14th 5 pm - Solar System Ambassadors: Volcanoes in Space For Adults and Teens November 16th 6 pm - 🌌Competing Cosmologies: Scientific Rivals to the Big Bang Model December 14th 6 pm - 💫 Avengers of the Cosmos: The Battle for Reality’s Fate (registration opens a month prior to the program)
