We will ringing in the new year by celebrating our vital mangrove habitats. These trees protect coastlines and communities from storms and erosion, act as marine nurseries, filter water, and store carbon. Without the mangroves, there would be no Florida Keys! CoastLove is working to preserve and restore red mangroves by collecting propagules, growing them in a nursery, and ultimately planting them along degraded coastlines. Stop by to learn more about this amazing organization and the incredible conservation work they are doing, as well as ways you can get involved! Monroe County residents enjoy free admission on Locals Day! While admission is free for locals, all activities — crafts, talks, and special events — are open to all guests.
