Mansfield Men’s Garden Club Speaker Series

Presented by the Mansfield Men’s Garden club, guest speakers guide participants through different gardening and horticulture topics that may be applied in home gardens. All participants are welcome to stay and attend the Club’s monthly business meeting following the presentation. Kingwood Members: free Non-Members: free with generosity of Mansfield Men’s Garden Club, waived admission cost of $10 with pre-registration MARCH: Explore landscaping including steps to develop a landscape plan, incorporating plants that complement house and yard features and improve curb appeal, and adding landscape features that may increase property values. APRIL: Explore The Native Yard Project with Kelly Neef from the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy. Learn how to convert portions of lawn into native plant habitats and create beautiful and functional ecosystems where people and wildlife thrive. MAY: Explore container gardens and the elements of container design. Nurture a garden at home and bring it back in August to enter this year’s Harvest Show in August. JUNE: Explore artistic design and flower pot arranging with Mary Lee Minor, and learn to create a ‘wow’ with color, texture, form and size. Design a vase or pot at home and bring it back in August to enter this year’s Harvest Show in August. JULY: John Hildreth, former director of Richland County Soil & Water, will share what you really need to know about soil.
