About this event
One of 1 upcoming event at Monterey Library, and 1,054 across the Berkshires.
Currently on exhibit at Monterey Library/Knox Gallery, Laura Chester’s Shovels & Chandeliers: a Collage of Prose and Poetry opened on Friday, October 30. The artist hosted a reception on the opening evening, and also offered a reading of her forthcoming book Spooning with Mojo, a joint venture between Chester, writer, and Phil Knoll, artist. Chester grew up in Wisconsin, and after living in various locations from New Mexico to Paris, settled in the Berkshires with her two sons. A resident of Alford, the artist has shown in several Berkshire venues. Writer, poet, and editor, she has recently begun to pursue collage art, and utilizes both vintage images and objects. The current exhibit features an assortment of her vintage collages, and will be on view through December 5.
