About this event
One of 55 upcoming events at KPBS, and 8,019 across San Diego.
Friday, October 30, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. A Reason to Survive (ARTS) is excited to announce its upcoming Día de los Muertos and Undas Festival. This free event invites the community to honor the past and celebrate the present through culturally rooted art experiences that bring together Mexican and Filipino traditions, pay tribute to departed ancestors, and carry ARTS’ 25-year legacy forward. In collaboration with the Institute for Public Strategies, the festival will feature student art on display at the ARTS Gallery, a vendors market in the newly renovated Visual ARTS Room, patio performances, and a community altar where visitors are encouraged to bring and place photos of their departed loved ones. The event will also feature art workshops, face painting, and a special trunk-or-treat Halloween activity hosted by Domestic Car Club.
