Celebrate the landscapes, wildlife, and cultural traditions that make Texas unique at our next Discovery Day. This family-friendly event invites visitors of all ages to explore the natural world through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and interactive experiences inspired by the Lone Star State. From native wildlife to local conservation efforts, Discovery Day offers a fun and engaging way to connect with the science and stories of Texas.  Sunday, March 15 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Walk and Talks & Demonstrations Short, guided programs led by Wildflower Center staff and partners. 10:15 a.m. — Bird of Prey Demonstration Ed Sones of Austin Area Wildlife Rehabilitation 11:10 a.m. — Walk and Talk: Texas Favorite Plants Explore some beloved Texas native plants on a guided walk through the gardens. 11:30 a.m. — Native American Cultural Center Dance Performance   Ongoing Activities (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) Hands-on stations and educational activities will be offered throughout the day. Partners include Austin Fire Department’s Wildfire Division, Capital Area Master Naturalists, Native Plant Society of Texas, Austin Animal Protection, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Bullock Texas State History Museum, and Wildflower Center staff. Admission Unless otherwise stated, all activities are included with garden admission. Free for members!
