From Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Is your homeschool learner ready to become an ecologist? Join us at the Wildflower Center for Homeschool Days, where science and nature come to life through hands-on learning and outdoor exploration. Designed for 2nd–6th grade learners (ages 8–12), each 90-minute session offers TEKS-aligned lessons, interactive activities, and the chance to apply new skills in our gardens. Families will investigate the natural world together while building observation skills, practicing data collection, and discovering cause and effect in nature. Fall 2026 Sessions Seed Studies – Wednesday, September 2, 10–11:30 a.m. Acorns, coconuts, pinecones, oh my! Come learn about the first step in the plant life cycle, seeds! We will learn about the different ways that seeds move and how we study and grow them here at the Wildflower Center. Water on the Move – Wednesday, October 7, 10–11:30 a.m. Dive into the wonders of water and how our environment is shaped by it. Come learn how water is moving over the landscape, through plants, and below your feet. Animal Trackers – Wednesday, November 4, 10–11:30 a.m. We don’t always see them, but we know they’re here. Become an animal detective and learn what evidence animals leave behind. Pricing Child: $20 per session (members receive 20% off) Adult: $15 per session (free for Wildflower Center members) Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Members receive a discount. Not a member? Join today! Please note: Homeschool Days are designed for 2nd–6th grade learners (ages 8–12). At least one registered child must be in this grade range. Siblings are welcome, but any child over the age of 2 must be registered. Children ages 2 and under may attend for free. Families may register for one, two, or all three dates. We encourage you to join us for the full series to build on your learner’s ecological knowledge across topics! Registration is required. Space is limited, and homeschoolers must be accompanied by an adult. For questions about the program or registration, email Melissa at [email protected]
