About this event
One of 65 upcoming events at Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
Soldiers in the Revolutionary War not only fought on boats, they also often lived on them for months. Step aboard the Museum’s replica of the Revolutionary War gunboat Philadelphia to explore their living and working conditions, understand the mechanics of the vessel, and even row the oars! Aboard the vessel, staff will have real artifacts from Revolutionary War sites around the lake (including recent artifacts recovered by our archaeologists at Arnold’s Bay) for visitors to see, touch, and learn about! Accessibility: The Philadelphia II is currently on the Museum Green. There is a staircase leading up to the boat, and the boat is in the middle of a grassy area. However, the rigging and cannon from the Philadelphia II are nearby or on the surrounding lawn, and our staff would be happy to talk about the vessel as well as display props on the lawn. Staff can also show artifacts on the lawn if needed. Add to calendar Google Calendar iCalendar Outlook 365 Outlook Live
