Coming to Trustus Theatre, set in 1956, and the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein is gathering for its highly anticipated annual quiche breakfast. As the “widows” prepare to crown the prize-winning quiche, the idyllic morning is shattered by the blare of atomic bomb sirens. Faced with a potential Communist threat and the collapse of their suburban sanctuary, the women must decide how to spend what could be their final moments. Winner of “Best Overall Production” at the NYC International Fringe Festival, this play serves up a high-energy blend of hysterical laughs, thinly veiled innuendo, and explosive self-discovery.
