Experience the power of musical kinship as the SC Philharmonic and the SC Philharmonic Youth Orchestra unite on one stage! We open with Valerie Coleman’s Umoja – Anthem of Unity, a vibrant, rhythm‑driven celebration of togetherness—performed side‑by‑side by our professionals and rising stars to showcase the spark of collaboration. Next, Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring Suite brings its airy, folk‑infused melodies and sun‑drenched harmonies, evoking America’s rolling landscapes and pioneering spirit. Finally, Dvořák’s beloved Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” transports you to worlds both distant and familiar, from haunting horn solos to the triumphant, sweeping rhythms of the finale. Join us for From the New World, a thrilling evening where mentorship and mastery meet to celebrate unity, American roots and the boundless promise of the next generation!
