This program is part of our Threading Together: AANHPI Traditional Attire Exhibit. On May 29, step into traditional Japanese style with Misao, Paula, and Masayo of the Portland Kimono Club. Explore the meaning, history, and cultural significance of the garments featured in our exhibition through conversation and shared storytelling. Engage with cultural representatives, ask questions, and enjoy a show and tell display of additional pieces that deepen the connection between dress and identity, heritage, and artistry. Activities include wearing kimono for social outings, classes, workshops, and volunteering at cultural events.
