About this event
One of 8 upcoming events at Lancaster Art Vault.
Friday, August 7 - Saturday, August 29 First Friday Opening: August 7 at 5:00PM “Currents in Whispered Motion” explores the vibrant interplay between energy and calm. Brushstrokes converge and diverge in rhythmic passages that feel at once spontaneous and precise. Within this choreography, warm whispers of color surface, catching light and adding tactile nuance. Bold contrasts meet gentle transitions, guiding the eye through fluid structures that suggest motion while remaining grounded. Across the series, stillness and flow coexist in layered tensions, inviting close looking to uncover the subtle shifts that animate each piece. Life brings changes in practice and perspective, and to Stone, a desire to express himself through painting came at first as a weekend and summer escape. Living in a beachfront community where art and artists abounded, he immersed himself in his new-found virtuosity. As an avid traveler, Stone spent hours, if not days, in art exhibits and galleries. His curiosity inspired his creations in the form of abstractions that satisfied his translation of images to reality. His aspiration to learn from recognized abstract artists took him to the far corners of the States to consume the guidance and critique he wanted. He has studied with accomplished artists from Sante Fe, San Francisco, New York, Tampa, and Chattanooga. Their guidance and mentoring encouraged him to spend longer periods at his craft. Stone’s interactions with fellow artists moved him deeper into his adopted artistic opuses. He is happiest working on one or several creations for hours. Painting means so much more the farther he delves into it.
