Monday Mountain Explorers: Monte Sano Nature Preserve, Bankhead Trailhead

Families with elementary aged children are invited to attend these homeschool enrichment program events focused on exploring the natural environment to develop a connection to the land, to wildlife and to each other. We will learn about Alabama’s biodiversity and natural resources through weekly seasonal nature-based themes. We will read literature together to spark curiosity about the natural world, we will discover and explore our natural environment together through walks and family-led activities, we will introduce the concept of field journaling as a way to capture our discoveries, and ultimately we will foster community through interactions in our natural environment.
