Our Stand-Up 201: The Professional Polish is a focused, three-week intensive designed for graduates of 101. This course moves past just writing jokes and dives into the strategy of building a high-impact set for auditions, festivals, and competitions. 3-Week Curriculum Join our creative and motivating advanced sessions focused on the architecture of a professional set. Unlike the beginner course, 201 focuses on the nuances of delivery and set construction to help you stand out in a crowded industry. What you’ll learn: This 201 course dives deep into the “industry” side of performance. You’ll focus on set construction—learning how to order your material for maximum impact—and delivery refinement to showcase your originality. The Workshop Environment: Each week is a high-level lab. You’ll have the opportunity to perform your material in front of the class, receive aggressive and constructive feedback, and engage in high-level discussions to grow your skills and your act. The Goal: We aren’t just writing jokes; we are building a professional package. You will work toward a polished, “submission-ready” set designed to catch the eyes of bookers and festival scouts. Andrew’s cerebral and imaginative style is rooted in his love for language, philosophy, sociology, biology, psychology, anthropology, and cosmology, all on full display when he takes the stage. Andrew has studied Satire, Screenwriting, and Talk Show Writing at Second City in Chicago. He has also lectured on Comedy Writing and Performing at McKendree University and taught an aspiring comedians’ course in Munich, Germany.
