THE APRICOTS [residency!] / Cole Gann

The Apricots, a Portland indie-folk band built around dreamy melodies, lush harmonies, and a little bit of magic. For this Laurelthirst residency in October, the band is stripping things back for a more intimate, raw, and close to the room set, letting the songs and three-part harmonies take center stage. “Playing the Laurelthirst feels like a a rite of passage for The Apricots. Many of the Portland artists who inspired us have graced this room, making it a special place in the musical history of our community. To now have the opportunity to bring our own songs into that space is something we’re incredibly grateful for” Come sit close, sing along, and spend an evening with The Apricots in one of Portland’s most beloved rooms. PLAYING A WEEKLY RESIDENCY WITH SPECIAL GUESTS THIS MONTH! https://www.theapricotsband.com/ Described as a “sonic heatwave”, The Apricots are an indie-folk-rock band from Portland, OR that thrives on vocal harmony. At their core, they’re just a group of best friends that have found purpose in this band. Their songs will make you swoon one minute and groove the next. https://www.fortyfeettall.com/ Forty Feet Tall has cemented their place in the scene as one of the Pacific Northwest’s most exciting acts. With a brand new album, Clean the Cage, produced by Cameron Spies (Spoon Benders, Blackwater Holylight, The Shivas), they showcase a wide range of post-punk sounds that are both volatile and intimate. But the biggest buzz around the band is their live shows. Whether they’re opening for Shame, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Wine Lips, or headlining themselves, the members leave every single thing out on stage with gigs routinely ending in incendiary showstoppers that find the lead singer tangled up in mic cords or diving into the crowd. Catch them on their first EU/UK tour this Fall.
