About this event
One of 1 upcoming event at Levine Museum Of The New South.
Join us for an intimate evening exploring the artistry and traditions behind stunning altars for Día de Muertos, and enjoying delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine. Levine Museum and the Latin American Coalition present the Eve of the Dead, a special casual dinner and cultural experience designed to accompany our annual Festival Día de Muertos on November 1st. Enjoy an evening of Mexican dishes while learning about one of the most recognizable and meaningful traditions associated with Día de Muertos: the altar, or ofrenda. Meet our altar expert and learn about the significance of photographs, candles, flowers, food, personal objects, and other elements commonly included on an ofrenda, as well as the cultural and familial traditions behind them. Consider this your first stop to dive deep into the history of the altars ahead of Charlotte’s favorite festival, Día de Muertos. Register Location: Latin American Coalition - 4938 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205 Parking: Free parking on site
