Singer Performer Kathy Banta

On Sunday November 1, 2026, at 2:00pm at the Betty Strong Encounter Center, singer and performer Kathy Banta will grace the stage to entertain our audience. Admission is free, but freewill donations are encouraged. When she is not performing at various venues, Sioux City resident Kathy Banta is not afraid to drive a few miles and take on challenging acting roles. She recently completed a run as Hannah in Come From Away at the Omaha Community Playhouse. She previously played The Moon in Omaha Community Playhouse’s production of Caroline, Or Change. This performance earned her a nomination for the Elaine Jabenis Cameo Award at the Playhouse and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role by The Theater Arts Guild Omaha. Her other passion is working to find a home for Haus of Qui, a non-profit performance group geared toward providing a stage for people of color and LGTBQIA+ youth. Other favorite roles include The Lady Of The Lake in Spamalot, Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde, Velma Kelly in Chicago, Joanne in RENT, and The Witch in Into The Woods. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center/Betty Strong Encounter Center was built and is sustained by the Missouri River Historic Development Organization as a gift of history to the community.
