MONARCH MIGRATION CELEBRATION

Please join us on September 27th from 11am–3pm for our Monarch Migration Celebration! Celebrate the annual migration of the monarch butterflies with an afternoon honoring Hispanic culture, the incredible journey of the monarchs, and the connections between people, place, and migration. Each fall, millions of monarchs begin an extraordinary journey south to Mexico, traveling thousands of miles to reach their overwintering grounds. This remarkable migration has long been celebrated throughout Mexico and holds a special place in communities along the monarch’s route. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about their incredible flight through educational activities, while enjoying live music from DJ Ray and delicious food from local food trucks. The celebration will also serve as a send-off for our outdoor exhibit, Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dreamworld, giving guests one final opportunity to experience these vibrant, fantastical sculptures before they too journey onward from the Garden.
