Writing a Story in Eight Weeks: Creative Intersections
From publicly posted calendar Checked yesterday
About this event
One of 67 upcoming events at Literary Arts.
In this generative writing class, we’ll tackle writing from all sorts of different creative angles. We’ll incorporate doodling, collaging, reading, post-it-noting, flash carding, and all sorts of different forms of fun ways to edit, write, and explore a story. Throughout the class we will also pay attention to short-story fundamentals, including character, setting, plot and conflict. Over the course of eight weeks, you’ll work to complete a rough draft of a short story, with weekly check-ins to keep you on track. There will be some in-class discussion and feedback for your writing, but there will not be a traditional, dedicated workshop component to the class. This class is for all writing ability levels. Class outcomes: Explore different ways to generate and explore a story Develop a complete rough draft of a short story Access Program We want our writing classes and seminars to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class and seminar tuitions at a reduced rate. Most writing classes have at least one access spot available. Please apply here for access rate tuition. Contact Susan Moore at [email protected] if you have questions. Liaison position Every in-person class and seminar at Literary Arts has one liaison position. Liaisons perform specific duties for each class meeting. If you are a liaison for a class or seminar, the full amount of your tuition is covered by Literary Arts. Apply here for the liaison position.
