Join us for the Lombard Historical Society’s Annual Meeting on April 22. The evening begins with highlights from 2025, our Board of Management elections at 6:30 PM, followed by a compelling program at 7:00 PM. Please note this is a members only program This years program will be presented by Illinois State Archaeologist Dale Simpson Jr. A recent study published in Illinois Antiquity (Vol. 60, No. 4) establishes the oldest known evidence of human activity within the village of Lombard, Illinois, dating back nearly 10,000 years. The site, now officially registered as the Mrs. Gary Site (11DU629), represents the first pre-contact archaeological site recognized within Lombard and provides a tangible link to the village’s earliest known inhabitants. The research demonstrates how careful stewardship and reinterpretation of legacy collections can reveal hidden stories, enrich local history, and inspire public engagement with archaeology. This is a hybrid program—join us in person or online! In-person Space is limited. Register by April 18th THIS IS A MEMBERS ONLY PROGRAM Not an LHS Member?
