@ CALLING ALL TEEN LEADERS! The National Youth Summit brings middle and high school students together with scholars, teachers, policy experts, and activists in a national conversation about important events in America’s past that have relevance to the nation’s present and future. Who: Open to teen leaders from 14-18 years old. What: The Long Island Museum was selected as a Regional Summit site for the 2026 National Youth Summit! This event will focus on the theme of the Smithsonian’s 250th exhibition In Pursuit of Life, Liberty, and Happiness and what this theme means to teens today. Followed by an interactive tour of the Enduring Heart: Native American Long Island exhibition and a hands-on artist led workshop. Where: The Long Island Museum, Stony Brook, NY When: Tuesday, October 27, 2026 @ 4:00- 6:30 pm Why: Student leaders will receive recognition from the Smithsonian, earn volunteers hours, and gain valuable experience and knowledge of our regional history while expressing their views for the future.
