Discernable connections to America’s earliest chapters, the preservation of sites like The Brewster House (c.1665), The Thompson House (c.1709) and The Stony Brook Grist Mill (c.1751) ensure people will continue to learn from and be inspired by them. Built during the colonial period, they survived the British occupation of Long Island during the American Revolution and become interwoven in the stories of Long Islanders who not only witnessed, but contributed, to the development of the community and country.
