About this event

Arts & Culture

Maferefún Cuba is an homage and featured presentation of prints and works on paper by the late Cuban printmaker Eduardo Roca Salazar “Choco”. Opens May 7. In light of his recent passing, the Cuban Art Space will honor the great Choco with an exhibit of his work that highlights selected prints and works on paper. Choco came to the United States for the first time invited by the Center for Cuban Studies along with Nelson Dominguez in 1981. He had his first US exhibition at Westbeth Gallery as a part of FIRST LOOK: 10 YOUNG ARTISTS OF TODAY’S CUBA in collaboration with CCS. We will remember him, the influence he had on Afro Cuban art, and beyond.
