Turn trash into treasures in this sustainable jewelry-making workshop in NYC! In this one-of-a-kind jewelry-making experience, where sustainability meets creativity, you will turn plastic waste into wearable art! Experience wellness for our mind and the Earth through this hands-on workshop. In this creative, eco-friendly workshop, you’ll design custom earrings using colorful shapes crafted from recycled NYC plastics. This is your chance to express your imagination while learning about material circularity and embracing sustainability. This workshop is guided by Rina Shin, and in collaboration with Precious Plastic NYC (PPNYC). Rina is a Color and Material Designer with over 15 years of professional experience working with brands like Microsoft and Logitech. PPNYC is a New York-based initiative dedicated to transforming plastic waste into sustainable materials through community-focused, creative workshops. Your workshop will include all the materials needed to create a pair of earrings (including hardware for clip-ons). Feel free to BYO additional hardware to turn your creations into necklaces, charms, or anything else you dream up. The workshop will be hosted at Brooklyn Creative Reuse 254 36th Street, Space C244 (2nd Floor) Friday June 5th, 7-9pm.
