COMMON THREAD Fiber Art & Mixed Media Exhibition September 3–27, 2026 Los Angeles Makery | Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles The Los Angeles Makery presents Common Thread, a dynamic fiber art and mixed media exhibition bringing together the work of more than 24 artists across two floors of the Makery. At the heart of Common Thread is the transformation of material—what is discarded, overlooked, or left behind becomes a starting point for artistic exploration. Many of the works incorporate discarded remnants and samples donated by interior design and architectural firms, giving new life to fabrics, textiles, surfaces, and materials that might otherwise have been destined for waste. The exhibition explores the many ways artists work with fiber and unconventional materials to create connections between craft and contemporary art, sustainability and beauty, architecture and personal expression. From intricate textile works to experimental mixed-media pieces, Common Thread celebrates the tactile, the handmade, and the unexpected.
