Artist Help Desk

This two-hour program is designed as a one-on-one help desk; artists can sign up for a timeslot with us to get individual assistance and information on specific questions they may have regarding their art practice or business. This is a free program, but please sign up for a specific timeslot by emailing [email protected] or call 518-798-1144 x2. Timeslots are: 4pm, 4:30pm, 5pm, and 5:30pm. Participants are welcome to bring their own laptops for questions related to computer files, images, websites, etc… Have questions on the business of art? Need advice on how to present/frame your artwork? Want to learn how to take the best images of your work? What do you need to enter online shows, submit to galleries, apply for grant opportunities? Wondering about setting up your own website and how to use social media to market your work? Looking for ways to track where your artwork has been shown and how to catalog your work? Need recommendations on how and where to have prints made? how to write an artist statement and bio? How to get a NYS sales tax id? How to set up a framework to capture your expenses and revenue…? We just might have the answers for you and if not, we can help find out and/or direct you to helpful information sources, so that you can get back to the creative parts of your art practice.
