She is an enthusiastic member of Maine’s creative community with roles encompassing creative business ownership, program management and event organizing. Lizz earned a BFA in Crafts with a Textiles concentration from Kutztown University, where she received the J. Allen Pawling Award the year of graduation. She has worked under local fabric designers, a quilt gallery, and founded her own business, The Wild Textile, in 2016. Her work was featured in the 2017 award-winning video “Everyday Humans” and March 2023 edition of Maine Home + Design. Lizz now serves as the Director of the Guild Fine Craft Shows, manages Maine Crafts Association educational programming, and creates unique textile pieces in her South Portland home studio. In 2020, the Maine Crafts Association assumed management of the Guild Fine Craft Shows, a series of events originally created and managed by the Maine Crafts Guild for over forty years. The two organizations united to form a single Maine craft organization, launching Shop Maine Craft in 2022. The Guild Fine Craft Shows remain a vital marketplace where the public can experience, collect, and learn about quality craft objects created by a dedicated membership of talented and skilled artists. Guild Level Membership is a lifetime certification designed to attract and unite professional craft artists for participation in the Guild Fine Craft Shows. The shows take place in key Maine venues and offer a marketplace where the public can view, collect, and learn about high-quality handmade craft objects created by dedicated and skilled craftspeople.
