Load More Saturday, August 1, 2026 10am-4pm We will be making lampshades using a wet felting technique combining a sheer silk fabric with wool fiber, soap and water to create a “Nuno Felted “ lampshade. Led by Shaker Village neighbor and friend Betsey Leslie of Ewes to You Farm in New Gloucester. Nuno is the Japanese word for fabric and the Technique of Nuno Felting combines a loose woven fabric with wool fibers and soapy water to coax the fibers through the silk and bond with fiber underneath. Sounds complicated but it’s fun and I’ll help you make your creation a reality. This sheer designed fabric is perfect for lampshades. All supplies will be provided and all you need to bring is a towel, your lunch and your imagination! Includes: 13″ barrel shade, silk fabric, fiber, felting stone, double sided tape, and felting needles (as needed) Save $10 dollars if you already have a felting stone All the wool is hand-dyed by Betsey, custom made for this workshop and projects. Don’t be shy, all levels of felters welcome. Betsey will help you create your vision! Have fun, learn something new and enjoy the serenity of the Shaker Village.
