About this event
One of 8 upcoming events at Marion Natural History Museum.
With Dr. Stace Beaulieu, Senior Research Specialist with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Hydrothermal vents, or hot springs, have been described as oases of life in the deep ocean. But what happens to the ecosystem after a hydrothermal vent stops venting? This presentation will take you virtually on a dive in the human-occupied vehicle Alvin to the deep ocean floor to investigate life on lesser studied inactive sulfide features. Join us October 16th to learn about this new research at Wood Hole Oceanographic Institution funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation. —
