About this event
One of 8 upcoming events at Mary Riley Styles Public Library, and 6,186 across Washington, D.C..
Help us share the Revolutionary stories of Fairfax County! Join us for a hands-on opportunity to help make historical documents more searchable and usable for researchers now and in the future. We will use documents from the Library of Virginia's Legislative Petitions collection focused on Fairfax's Revolutionary-era experiences. If possible, please bring your laptop (and power cord) to this program. This in-person session will include an introduction and a website demonstration to help participants get started on FromThePage, the Library of Virginia's transcription platform. Participants will work on documents of their own choosing for the remaining time and are encouraged to ask questions and help each other. The event will conclude with a brief discussion of the interesting stories uncovered during our time together. To register for this program, please scroll down and click on the blue "Register" box.
