The Montpelier Historic Site and Montpelier Arts Center are honored to present a staged reading of Rev. Dr. Joanne M. Braxton’s “Crossing a Deep River: A Ritual Drama in Three Movements.” “Crossing a Deep River” has enjoyed staged readings at Harvard, The College of William and Mary, and the 2005 National Black Theatre Festival at Morgan State University. This event will incorporate Montpelier’s history as a former site of enslavement into the drama’s unfolding narrative. Members of the Montpelier Museum should call (301) 377-7817 to register. Date and time subject to change. Please call 301-377-7817 for more information.
